Walk with the herd on a guided goat tour at Candy Mountain Goat Farm. Pet, brush, and feed the goats on this family-friendly experience. $15/person, Tuesday-Saturday at 1:00 PM.

Arrive early for a picnic with grills, yard games, and extra goat time before the 1:00 PM guided tour. $75 for groups of up to 6 guests.

Ride these electric-powered railcars which you pedal, going through some beautiful land, waterfalls, and a long tunnel. Tour is about 2 1/2 hours and about a 50 minute drive (45/person)

Starting at the historic depot in downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia, riders take a four-hour, 26-mile roundtrip journey along the Toccoa River through the North Georgia countryside (45 mins, $50).

Follow a decent dirt road to the top of Buk Bald mountain where you can easily see three states from the observation area which used to be a fire tower. Follow the winding road to the top where there is plenty of grass, picnic tables, and a breathtaking view. (25 mins from farm). The entrance to Buk Bald is just a few miles North of Apalachia on route 68. Early October is the best time to see fall foliage. Not recommended for small cars.

43-mile scenic byway takes you a mile high along the Smoky Mountain National Park with stunning views and the notorious “Tail of the Dragon” (5 gallons gas).

Seasonal nice picnic site on a small lake with numerous trails. Cross the dam and explore another lake as well (Left at farm entrance, Right on Candy Mtn, Right on 294 - 5 miles on left - easy)

Located just ten minutes from the farm, this course isn’t the easiest you’ll play, but it isn’t the most challenging either. It fits the sweet spot for both beginners and par golfers alike.

Visit us at the Stone House for sweeping panoramic views of the vineyard hills and mountain landscape. The Stone House boasts a large open air patio, as well as cozy indoor seating options. It is also the venue for many of our Private Events! Tasting Flights, Wine by the Glass, and Wine by the Bottle are available at the Stone House Tasting Room. No reservations required. A selection of cheese and gourmet snacks is available for purchase. We do not allow outside food at the Stone House, though we do allow outside picnics at the Farmhouse Market Picnic Area. Gold was first discovered at this mining site in 1847 and it continues to produce gold. It is now open to the public with a museum, gold minining operation, and gem mining. Your $16 admission provides a single bucket of sand which you'll pan and most likely get more gold than the admission price. After panning for gold, spend some time in the gem mining stations. For gold enthusiests, they sell larger buckets and rent professional equipment.

Folk School Easter Egg Hunt The Easter Bunny has been extra busy this winter, storing up eggs and candy for this year's hunt. So, grab your baskets and hop on over to the Folk School for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt! An annual springtime favorite for kids, this year's Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, March 30 at 1 p.m. Join us in Festival Barn for a fun afternoon of crafts, entertainment, and egg hunting. Schedule: 1:00: Craft Making 1:30: Music, Games & the Easter Bunny 2:00: Egg Hunt for ages 1 to 5 2:20: Egg Hunt for ages 6 and up This year, we will use wooden eggs dyed by Folk School staff and decorated by our friends in the community. Children will hunt for these wooden eggs and exchange them for candy, giving everyone a chance to take home an array of treats. In the spirit of sustainability, we'll use these handcrafted eggs for many hunts to come. The Easter Egg Hunt is free and open to all.

Visit a 100 acre park devoted to the Ten Commandments. God’s Word is truly a gift to all men. From the top of Prayer Mountain to the valley baptismal pool; through the gigantic Ten Commandments spread across the mountainside; poured out through the All Nations Cross; God’s Word is presented and preserved for future generations.

This remote area offers excellent trout fishing, picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, and camping. The 25-mile Rim Trail in the Fires Creek Backcountry Area, is a hiking trail, however, some trail sections are open to horses. As the name implies, the Rim Trail climbs the ridge around Fires Creek and makes a large loop. The trail offers vistas as it crosses several highelevation balds. Some of the trails are paved, others are improved, hiking is easy to moderate. (1 hr)

Experience the thrill of motorless flight along the Appalachian Mountains and Tennessee Valley, admire the Hiwassee and Ocoee Rivers from the air as you go up like a hawk. On some days you can fly the ridgeline at awesome speeds, other times you can take hold of the controls with your pilot and feel what it is like to fly a glider through the various air currents that sustain free flight. This range has a 100-yard firing line for rifles and a 25-yard firing line for pistols. This range features directional signs, graveled parking area, vault toilet, bulletin board, six rifle shooting lanes (100 yards) with shooting benches, four pistol shooting lanes (25 yards), backstop berms, garbage containers, a covered concrete shooting pad, one picnic table with grill, and target stands are available on site. It is open year round during daylight hours only. Only paper targets or manufactured metal silhouette targets are allowed. Shooting at bottles, cans, or other unsuitable material is not permitted. Use of archery equipment, hunting, use of fully automatic weapons, use of incendiary or tracer ammunition, or firing at any airborne target is prohibited.

Rafting and Tubing adventures along the Toccoa river (CopperHill, TN - 20 mins) with no appointment needed. Inner Tubes are $12/person and include transportation. Situated near Murphy, NC (less than an hour from the farm) provides "life on the vine" and suggests we all Wine Down. They are open to the public from 1pm until 6pm Saturday and Sundays.

Maggie Valley is where North Carolina’s favorite scenic road meets America’s most visited park! The small town sits just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park and is just a short drive from the famed Blue Ridge Parkway. With plenty of outdoor adventures, great food, and more, there are some amazing things to do in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Known for its old-fashioned vibe, motorcycle rallies, bluegrass and clogging, and plenty of mountains to hike, there truly are so many things to do in Maggie Valley.

Located about 20 minutes from the farm is a cool ranch that is open to the public on Friday and Saturday (11am until 4pm) with no reservations required. On property is a gem mine, paintball, mini golf, and a pistol range.

White Water Rafting along the Ocoee River (awesome) - Horseback riding - paintball - high ropes course. This great company is just ten minutes from the farm and is THE location for white water rafting. You'll have the opportunity to raft down the very same course that was used in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Cost is about $60/person for the 3 hour adventure.

For those headed to the Ocoee River this summer, you can now experience the adventure of flying on zip lines. We have 9 zip lines and 3 swinging sky bridges with heights reaching up to 60' and speeds reaching 25mph. There are great views of Big Frog Mountain and the pine forest surrounding Ducktown, TN ($99/person - 3 hrs OR $149/person includes white water rafting).
